Hangzhou will plan to build 40 public bike service spots for two tier bike racks, which can contain three times of bikes compared to parking capacity of any common bike rack.
Last year, the first two tier bike rack parking spot was put into service in Hangzhou Railway East Station, which has two layers for parking bikes, and can contain 90 bikes within the area of 40 square meter.
According to the introduction of relevant responsible persons, Hangzhou will plan to build the advanced bike parking garages, i.e. each set of bike rack can park 3 bikes. But these bike parking service spots will not be on duty for 24 hours, and will be managed by staff.
In addition, Hangzhou will also consider the construction of underground bike parking garages by importing Japanese advanced production technologies. Such avanced underground bike parking garage is fully automatic. You can store and retrieve the bike only via a special intelligent card.
When you want to store your bike, place your bike on a platform, and press the button, thus your bike will be stored into the underground garage within half an minute. When you want to retrieve your bike, just scan your intelligent card on the scanner, then the bike will be retrieved within 30 seconds.
Such automatic bike parking garage has been put into service in Japan, and it’s believed to appear in China in near future.
